Pampas grass, paper-wrapped wire

In ‘Tend’, grasses are knotted together blade by blade with floral wire to create a flowing sheet. When hung, the form reveals and conceals itself depending on the angle of approach, asking to be both seen as an object and felt as a spatial field. The wire traces a path of time while each cluster of grasses marks a return to practice. Through the repetitive process of creation, the piece reflects the artist's own struggles with the pressures of consistency and discipline, and her growing belief that consistency is not endless labour but the willingness to keep returning. The work gains meaning in how each segment relates to the whole; how simple gestures accumulate into presence. Presented by The 525 in their group exhibition, Again & Then.
