HI, I’m AIDAN

I’m a floral designer and interdisciplinary artist based in Vancouver, BC. Through Things From Gardens, I spend my days exploring the expressive possibilities of natural materials, creating custom floral work for events, installations, creative productions, and spaces. I'm the girl who falls in love with every stem she sees; lagging behind on a walk to photograph the plants; showing you the tiny details of a leaf; pulling over the car to forage something growing on the side of the road; and generally getting excited about beautiful things. Working with flowers and plants is equal parts play and meditation for me. The natural world and its many cycles are where I look for inspiration.

Things From Gardens is named after how I started arranging flowers: gathering bits from around my neighbourhood and experimenting with them. I would send photos of every arrangement to my mom in Toronto, and what started as a creative outlet quickly became one of our favourite ways to stay connected. Beginning this way taught me to find beauty in the things most people walk past and sparked a love of foraging that continues to shape my practice today. Before starting Things From Gardens, I had a career in tech, building my floral practice on evenings, weekends, and vacation days. I left my job in 2023 thinking I'd take some time off before finding my way back to the corporate world, but the flowers kept calling and I couldn't turn away. What felt like a happy accident has grown into a thriving studio, and I'm continually grateful for the people, projects, and opportunities that have shaped the journey.
